It was an easy drive, and I got there in late afternoon. I found a nice hotel without difficulty, identified a good place for dinner, and then drove on to the temple.
Somewhere along the way, I had learned that it was a 2,500 year old tradition to view the sunset from the temple, which is at the southern end of the Attic peninsula. After looking around for a while, it was still a little early, so I went back for dinner. After that, I returned to the temple to await the sunset. The modest crowds of earlier had thinned out, and it was very pleasant indeed.
So, I watched the sunset and then went back and had a good night’s sleep before heading home the next day.
