Strasbourg is a very nice small city east of Paris on the border with Germany. It is one of my favorite destinations in France along with Paris and Carcassonne. There is good food, a modern art museum, a Cathedral with a famous astronomical clock, the seat of the European Parliament, and the area known as Petite France (next).
