Seen more frequently at high latitudes, this atmospheric phenomenon is caused by ice crystals in the air. Unfortunately, I didn’t see any Northern Lights - that’s still on my bucket list :-}
Tips for travel in Scandinavia
English is widely spoken. You won’t have a problem. Car travel is easy, and they drive on the right side. The food is quite good, but it, and everything else, may be relatively expensive. The people are nice, and it is generally very safe. There is a good Bikeshare system in Copenhagen. The ferryboat ride in Geiranger Fjord goes by the waterfalls and is great! Be warned that big cruise ships come into Geiranger Fjord - it’s a small town and may be crowded then.
