In the Archaeology Museum of Athens, you can see many well preserved relics from the ancient period.
This bronze statue, known as the Jockey of Artemision, was recovered from a shipwreck around 1930 after being under salt water for nearly 2,000 years! I had no idea that bronze was that durable. Most ancient bronze statues were melted down, so the shipwreck was our good fortune. Amazing!
