In Paris, of course. Someone has a nice boat (note the hot tub) and a great view of the Eiffel Tower. It is possible to stay on a houseboat if you want, or you can buy one for only $150,000 or so. Keeping it on the river will set you back about another $1,200 a month though. Renting an apartment for a week can be quite economical and cheaper than an equivalent hotel, even before factoring savings eating some meals in. I use “VRBO”.
The Eiffel Tower was opened in 1889 for the 100th anniversary of the French Revolution. It was built by Gustave Eiffel, whose company is still very much in existence - see later on. It is 1,063’ tall and was the highest building in the world until it was surpassed by the Chrysler Building in NYC in 1930.
